About Us

Malaika of Longido is a non-profit organization based in Longido, Arusha, dedicated to supporting women by providing grants that improve their economic well-being. These grants empower women to support their families, especially their children.

The organization was founded by Eunice Onesmo, a Maasai woman who has devoted her time and resources to helping fellow women break the cycle of poverty.

Through a partnership with International Collaborative USA, we have been able to provide loans to groups of women. These women invest in small businesses, repay the loans with minimal interest, and continue growing their enterprises. This system not only strengthens their livelihoods but also fosters a culture of mutual support during times of need.

Our Vision

To economically empower women and become a strong voice for Maasai young girls in Longido District.

Our Mission

To promote gender equality by improving women’s opportunities in social, economic, and political spheres, while supporting them in challenging harmful cultural practices that make them feel inferior.

What we do

Awareness & Advocacy

We conduct seminars for women’s groups on how to oppose harmful cultural practices, champion equal opportunities, and strengthen women’s empowerment.

Economic Empowerment

We provide loans and grants to women running small businesses, helping them grow their income and achieve financial independence.

Environmental & Health Initiatives

In partnership with International Collaborative USA, we are working to install Maasai stoves and solar power in Maasai bomas. This project aims to reduce smoke-related health risks, prevent fire hazards, minimize firewood use, and protect the environment.
